Gmail image caching in newsletters

Have you ever send an HTML newsletter to users with gmail accounts and got complaints about how they look?

That might be because google is caching images in emails. Not just attachments but also inline images. If you just updated the images on the server it can take up to a few hours until gmail shows your new images.

Keep that in might and consider using new file names to prevent the caching completely.
