Solve PHPStorm syntax highlighting problems

Did you ever have the problem that PHPStorm doesn't want to show the right syntax highlighing?

More often then not syntax highlighting problems in PHPStorm stems from cache issues. To solve them you can try the following menu action:

File => Invalidate Caches / Restart... => Invalidate and Restart
